Inclement Weather Policy

Classroom

If the local school district closes school due to snow/ice the local Nelson Driving School location will also be closed. If we have snow/ice on a non school day the owners will make the decision to close or not close down the classroom locations. In case of other types of inclement weather situations, i.e. wind, flood, power outages, please call Nelson Driving School, 354-8777, to get updated school closure information or check the website's homepage.

Behind - the - Wheel

In case of any inclement weather situation the student will be contacted by their behind wheel instructor if the drive is to be cancelled. If the student does not receive a cancellation call then attend the drive as scheduled. The instructor needs to inform the owners at 360-354-8777 what that decision is. If the instructor decides to cancel their BTW students the instructor will need to contact their scheduled students and inform the students that their drive has been cancelled.

If the student is unable to attend a drive session because of inclement weather the student will need to call Nelson Driving School at 354-8777 at least one hour prior to the time the drive is to begin to avoid the $20.00 no show fee.
